PrIMe data: bibliography - creating new data record
primeHandle does not yet have a specialized submission form for bibliographic reference data. This is
the domain of librarian software of which many PrIMe users have some installed on their computers.
Probably the most convenient way to create new bibliography record is through the EndNote program.
Let's assume one has an EndNote library of references including the new reference(s) to submit
to PrIMe Warehouse. Let's also assume that the reference will be submitted along with new experimental
data or with new reaction rate.
- In EndNote, open the references library;
- select references to be submitted to PrIMe;
- in EndNote's main menu, select File => Export, and choose "XML" as the file type;
- choose file name and the folder, and click "Save" button.
In the submission form for a reaction rate or experiment, import the reference(s) by clicking on the
"New reference" button on the "References" tab, and point to the XML file exported from EndNote. PrIMe
submission form will import all the references found in the specified XML file.
Once you submit the experiment or reaction rate data, all newly created references will be automatically
submitted along.
Alternatively, one can download a bibliographic reference file from PrIMe Warehouse, edit it for new
reference information using a text or XML editor. Once new bibliography XML file is created, it can be
added to list of references for an experiment, reaction rate, and other PrIMe data records the same way
as if importing references from EndNote.
